Montana Avenue Art Walk | update

While I was so excited to have been accepted as a vendor for the fall event… life had some other ideas, and I’m no longer able to attend 🙃

Since I can’t make the Art Walk in October, I’m hoping to have a {shopping} soiree at the studio this fall— including a live mending/patch party. I’m amassing quite a collection of ready made pieces, and need room for more. We can also chat classes and workshops if you’re interested in learning my techniques/methods.

Here’s a look at a few of the pieces I was preparing at the Art Walk:

Ready to frame textile art | vintage silk handkerchief with hand stitching

Dyed, painted cotton | mounted on wood frame

Dyed, painted wool | mounted on wood frame

Just for fun |

I’m jazzing up this super soft sweater with colorful sashiko thread, star-shaped patches {made from studio fabric scraps}, and sequins.

Dye |

Working on the silk Pottery Barn curtains, crochet Anthropologie curtains, and wool drop cloths {for tote bag interior linings}.

My friend, Nicole, came to the studio and dyed some beautiful pieces |

Look at these beautiful velvet fabric scraps! I love the layers of color, and the unique markings they created. These ones feel pretty special to me, so they’re being put aside for quilt making.

It’s so fun to create and work with my own hand-dyed fabric in the studio. A machine couldn’t possibly make pieces like these, which endears me to them.

August clips of things in progress:

Until next time ✌🏻
