August | 22
Tinseltown took up the most of my August, which was amazing for a couple reasons…
The project I was working on was very much a dream job experience— the people I was with, the magic we were making, and the cast… the cast (that I can tell you about) well, they’ve been idols of mine since I was a child.
Basically, my life has peaked.
2. The studio gets too hot to work comfortably in August. We’re talking over 100+ degrees each day— which is miserable when I’m heat setting (ironing) pieces, and my liquids and ice are evaporating faster than I want them to. The past few summers I would wake up in the middle of the night to work, hoping for some balmy temps in the 80s, and dye from about 2-5am. But not this summer. I just let August be August and spent my time in some magnificent, air conditioned sound stages.
Dyes blooming as they were added to water for a dye bath.
