Holiday marbling workshops

This weekend I’ll be kicking off a series of Ebru marbling workshops in studio, and I’d be absolutely delighted if you’d join me.

Learn to float color on water, and take prints of your liquid designs on an assortment of decorative baubles including: wooden beads, a clay star, a paper mache bulb, and either a glass or plastic holiday ornament.

We’ll begin with an introduction on the preparation of the materials, as well as a demonstration and discussion of the historical and contemporary techniques and tools we’ll use, followed by time to play and make. We’ll celebrate fluid flow, release of control {as a creative strategy} and the beauty of surprises.

You’ll create flowing designs on watery surfaces, and take prints by dipping and twisting your baubles below the surface. It’s the perfect combination of chemistry, art, and motion— creating magical masterpieces for decorating or gift giving. And I’ll be with you to assist and answer questions as they arise.

We’ll end our time with a social Q&A connecting and reflecting on the pieces you’ve created.
